The Lodge is the Alpine cuisine restaurant chain that is found in The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead and also the Chill Factore in Manchester.
The Lodge has been open for a while in the Hemel Hempstead centre but was relatively new to the Chill Factore. In the Manchester centre, the Chill Factore is part of a destination centre with other retail shops and food outlets, so the competition for dining is strong. Their challenge was 2 fold. 1 to generate greater awareness of The Lodge restaurant that was located upstairs so doesn’t have much passing traffic. And 2, to give the brand a more premium feel that can be applied across the Point of Sale, menus and TV screens.
The logo remained as it was, as this identity was heavily embedded already and was working well, but everything else was fair game. We stripped the brand right back, creating a new look and feel through lots of natural materials such as wood and slate. We added in new typography, a hand drawn illustration style, colour palette and of course took a suite of photographs that really emphasises the quality and uniqueness of their Alpine food.
The results have been fantastic across both sites, especially in the new Chill Factore location. The fact that numerous calls were put out to the wider team for help in the restaurant speaks for itself. The two main dishes that were our ‘heroes’ have seen a huge spike in sales. These 2 dishes featured in the main large POS elements so clearly the combination of some really tasty photography and some well-situated Point of Sale has had the desired effect. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of this rebrand for both sites.
